PSYCHOTHERAPIST

Family Therapy

Psychotherapy can help family members improve communication and resolve conflicts. Family therapy is short term and may include all family members or just those willing to participate. The therapist work with families to learn the skills to deepen family connections and get through stressful times, especially outside of therapy.

Family therapy can help family members cope if a relative has a serious mental illness, substance abuse problem, or any family situation that causes stress, grief, anger or conflict.

Families work to improve their relationships with their partner, children, or other family members.

Primary approach is Family Systems- Structural Therapy (other therapeutic techniques practiced depending on the presenting problem and  treatment goal).

Problem areas treated:

  • Financial problems
  • Conflict between parents and children
  • Emotional distancing and family cohesion
  • Impact of substance abuse on the entire family
  • Impact of mental health illness on the entire family

Let's work together. I look forward to taking this journey with you.
